What is forex?

Forex (foreign exchange, or FX) is the global market where currencies are exchanged. Every time a tourist changes money, a company pays a supplier abroad or a central bank adjusts its reserves, currencies change hands. Together they trade trillions of dollars every day, which makes forex the largest financial market in the world.
