Lots and contract size
You choose how big a trade is in lots. For gold, most brokers use:
| Lot size | Ounces of gold | Profit or loss per $1 move |
|---|---|---|
| 1.00 lot (standard) | 100 oz | $100 |
| 0.10 lot (mini) | 10 oz | $10 |
| 0.01 lot (micro) | 1 oz | $1 |
So the formula is simple: profit or loss = price move × ounces.
